Funny story…

Garret Schwartz is a compulsively funny person with a talent for writing, wordplay, and abstract silliness.

An awkward kid with an old soul, Garret grew up in Prescott, Arizona. After barely graduating high school, Garret moved to Phoenix and dabbled in various writing-intensive jobs before starting a business: he invented a rolling tray called The Twisted Tray. Seriously, it’s patented…

After years of writing jokes and fantasizing about comedy, he finally started performing in 2024 and has not looked back. With a wealth of writing and life experience behind him, Garret took to the open mics with a passion that borders on addiction, and he has constantly developed his writing and stage presence as a result.

Garret has been booked for dozens of shows in Arizona and beyond, including Stir Crazy Comedy Club, Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy, and Wiseguys SLC (scroll down to see some past shows).

He hosts a very popular open mic comedy show on Tuesdays at Brigett’s Last Laugh in North Phoenix, where you can catch his off-the-cuff commentary and wit between a variety of local comedians.

Garret delivers. He comes prepared with a plan that’s catered to the show and the audience, and he’s always ready to adapt and adjust the plan in real time when necessary. His goal is always to make you laugh, keep you entertained, and make it a unique and memorable performance.
