Funny story…
Garret Schwartz steps on stage with the aura of an evil genius and the silly irreverence of a fool. Crowds stay captivated and entertained with his memorable combination of sharp deadpan wit and unadulterated absurdity.
Born and raised in the pines of Prescott, Garret worked basic labor since age 12, failed 8th grade, and barely graduated high school. Since living in Phoenix, he worked in writing-intensive fields and, mostly out of spite, got scholarships at ASU and graduated Summa Cum Laude.
With a talent for writing & relating weird ideas, plus a stubborn addiction to the stage and the craft, Garret constantly develops his writing and stage presence. He comes to every show with tested material and he’s always ready to adapt in real time.
He performs at shows across Arizona and beyond, including at Stir Crazy, Rick Bronson’s House of Comedy, Mic Drop, and Wiseguys SLC (scroll down for more). He’s a reliable and professional host, and a strong opener or feature for any show.
Garret loves live comedy, good food, and passionate conversation. Find him alone with a notepad in a gritty dive bar or catching up with friends over coffee and cookies - preferably chocolate chip. He loves the busy energy of the city but he also misses being around trees and nature.
He also hosts a popular open mic comedy show on Tuesdays at Brigett’s Last Laugh in North Phoenix, where you can catch his off-the-cuff commentary between a variety of local comedians.
